LWES SBDM FEBRUARY - 2016

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

FEBRUARY 11, 2016

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order. Council members present were Amanda Pence, Chris Spears, Marlinda Lush and Shelee Clark.

I. ORDER #FY16 – 1156 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY16 – 1157 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2016 regular meeting.

Kindergarten and 1^st grade students participated in student led conferences for the first time. It proved to be very positive. Second and third grade students will be doing the same on February 24. Mrs. Clark reported that the winter map scores were very encouraging. We will have new clubs this semester for Sharpen the Saw. Three Lakewood students placed at the State Art Contest. They are Madison Hall, Nolan Halberg and Abby Shader. Congratulations to these students.

II. The January budget report was reviewed and accepted. The January accident report was reviewed and accepted.

III. Council was provided with numerous committee reports which were discussed and accepted. These included reports from the Assessment, Learning Environment, Efficiency and Curriculum and Instruction committees.

IV. Council discussed the winter MAP data analysis.

Parent and teacher SBDM elections will be conducted.

V. The next regular meeting will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Chris Spears will serve as facilitator, Sue Knapp as resource person and Lisa Shrader as scribe.

OCTOBER 28, 2015

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order. Council members present were Amanda Pence, Marlinda Lush, Chris Spears, Sue Knapp, Lisa Shrader and Shelee Clark.

I. ORDER #FY16 – 1144 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY16 – 1145 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the September 23, 2015 regular meeting.

Mrs. Clark reported that six students placed at the state art conference. Lakewood had a very successful Fall Festival. Congratulations to preschool for receiving Classroom of Excellence. All council members have finished their training.

II. The September budget report was reviewed and accepted.

III. Fall 2015 MAP data was discussed at length. State testing data was also discussed.

The September accident report was reviewed and accepted.

IV. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Hodge shared the implementation and impact check for CSIP.

V. ORDER #FY16 – 1146 – CURRICULUM POLICY SECOND READ – Council agreed by consensus to approve the second read of the Curriculum Policy.

VI. The next regular meeting will be Wednesday , December 2, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Chris Spears will serve as facilitator, Amanda Pence as resource person and Lisa Shrader as scribe.

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

DECEMBER 2, 2015

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order. Council members present were Amanda Pence, Chris Spears, Sue Knapp, Lisa Shrader and Shelee Clark.

I. ORDER #FY16 – 1148 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY16 – 1149 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the October 28, 2015 regular meeting.

MAP testing has started for the students. American Education Week will be celebrated at the Towne Mall with displays and performances. Congratulations to the STLP teams which all qualified for state. KSI is currently serving 83 students in intervention process which is 15% of the student population. Mrs. Clark talked about the hour of code where students are learning computer skills. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Skaggs will be conducting some classes about this process. Program reviews were discussed which will include specific examples.

II. The October budget report was reviewed and accepted. The October and November accident reports were reviewed and accepted.

IV. ORDER #FY16 – 1150 – APPROVAL OF CSIP – Council agreed by consensus to approve the CSIP.

ORDER #FY16 – 1151 – CONSULTATION TO HIRE - Council officially consulted to hire Hannah Riggs to fill the instructional assistant position.

V. Council agreed to change the regular monthly meeting time to the second Thursday of each month. The next regular meeting will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Amanda Pence will serve as facilitator, Sue Knapp as resource person and Marlinda Lush as scribe.

January 2016 Minutes

LWES SBDM JANUARY - 2016

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

JANUARY 14, 2016

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order. Council members present were Amanda Pence, Chris Spears, Sue Knapp, Lisa Shrader, Marlinda Lush and Shelee Clark.

I. ORDER #FY16 – 1153 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY16 – 1154 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the December 2, 2015 regular meeting.

Kindergarten readiness scores proved to be very successful. The students’ winter performance was most enjoyable and attended by many. Students in 4^th and 5^th grade have been conducting student led conferences.

II. The November and December budget reports were reviewed and accepted. The December accident report was reviewed and accepted.

IV. Council discussed the behavior data mid-year report. Kindergarten readiness data was also discussed . The process of collecting evidence for program reviews is ongoing.

Parent and teacher SBDM election procedures were reviewed.

V. The next regular meeting will be Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Marlinda Lush will serve as facilitator, Chris Spears as resource person and Amanda Pence as scribe.
