LWES SBDM September Minutes

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

SEPTEMBER 23, 2015    

Mrs. Clark called the  meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order.  Council members present were Amanda  Pence, Marlinda Lush,  Chris Spears,  Sue Knapp  and Shelee Clark.

I.                    ORDER #FY16 – 1138 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY16 – 1139 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the August 10, 2015 regular meeting.

Fall MAP testing has been completed.  Results will be shared at the next meeting.  State testing data will be available October 1.  Excellent participation was reported for the Breakfast for Dads.

II.                  The August budget  report was reviewed and accepted. 

III.                WIGs (Wildly Important Goals) was discussed.  Two important goals are learning new math facts and to reduce bus discipline referrals.

The August accident report was reviewed and accepted.

IV.                 Committee reports submitted were Efficiency, Assessment, Curriculum and Learning Environment.  All reports were reviewed  and accepted.  

V.                   ORDER #FY16 – 1140 – CURRICULUM POLICY FIRST READ – Council agreed by consensus to approve the first read of the Curriculum Policy.

ORDER #FY16 – 1141 – CONSULTATION TO HIRE – Council officially consulted to hire Sara Ice to fill the 4^nd grade certified position.

ORDER #FY16  – 1142 – CONSULTATION TO HIRE – Council officially consulted to hire Alicia Wells to fill the instructional assistant position.

VI.                The next regular meeting will be Wednesday , October 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Marlinda Lush  will serve as facilitator, Lisa Shrader as resource person and Chris Spears  as scribe. 

ORDER #FY16 – 1143 – ADJOURNMENT – Meeting was adjourned by consensus of council.
