LWES SBDM MAY -  2018
LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
MAY 14, 2018   

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order.  Council members present were Lori Howlett, Michelle Masterson, Kathie Hamilton,  Marlinda Lush, Chris Spears and Shelee Clark.
I.                    ORDER #FY18 – 1303 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.
ORDER #FY18 – 1304 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the March 12, 2018 regular meeting.
There are several good news reports.  Fifth grade students enjoyed their class trip. Several students participated in the Lakewood Talent Show.  KPREP awards were presented to students.  Fifth grade students volunteered at Feeding America.  First grade students visited nursing home residents.  Lisa Jeffries has been awarded a chromebook cart grant.  GEMS and K/1 students presented a Spring concert.  Numerous student-led conferences have been conducted.  Lakewood student Carter Rinehart received fourth place in the ECTC spelling bee.  Congratulations to Carter.           
II.                  KPREP window begins today.  Spring MAP testing results will be available at next meeting.  SBDM parent elections will be held May 21-23.  SBDM training will be June 22.  Council agreed to renew KASC membership.    
III.                The March and April budget reports were reviewed and accepted.  March and April accident
 reports were also reviewed and accepted.  Committee reports available at this time were Efficiency, Curriculum & Instruction and Learning Environment.  These were all reviewed and accepted.                                                                                                        
IV.                 ORDER #FY18 – 1305 - CONSULTATION TO HIRE – Council officially consulted to hire John Holder as second shift custodian.
V.                  ORDER #FY18 – 1306 – 2017-2018 TITLE I BUDGET AMENDMENTS – Council agreed by consensus to approve the 2017-2018 Title I budget amendments.
ORDER #FY18 – 1307 – 2018-2019 PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY FIRST READ – Council agreed by consensus to approve the first read of the 2018-2019 Parent Involvement Policy.
ORDER #FY18 1308 – DISCIPLINE POLICY FIRST READ – Council agreed by consensus to approve the first read of the Discipline Policy.
VI.                The next regular meeting will be Monday,  June 11, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room.Lori Howlett  will serve as facilitator, Kathie Hamilton as resource person and Marlinda Lush as scribe.

LWES SBDM MARCH -  2018
LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
MARCH 12, 2018        

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order.  Council members present were Lori Howlett, Michelle Masterson, Kathie Hamilton,  Marlinda Lush, Chris Spears and Shelee Clark.
I.                    ORDER #FY18 – 1298 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.
ORDER #FY18 – 1299 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the February 14, 2017 regular meeting.
There are several good news reports.  Lakewood has won the Inspiring Curiosity with STEM grant.  Alivia Irwin won grand prize in Jim Claypool Conservation Art Contest.  Yonnie Marshman received first runner-up and Riley Pike received second runner-up in the art contest.  Preston Meredith earned fifth place in social studies at Regional Governor’s Cup.  The Storybook Sock Hop was enjoyed by many during Parent Involvement Night.  Lakewood celebrated Dr. Suess’ birthday with numerous activities for students.  Jennifer Wilcox wrote an article for Kentucky Teacher magazine.           
II.                  Spring MAP testing was discussed.  The HCS Volunteer Appreciation banquet will be April 17.  The SBDM teacher representatives for 2018-2019 will be Kathie Hamilton, Chris Spears and Lori Howlett.    
III.                The February budget and accident reports were reviewed and accepted.  Committee reports available at this time were Efficiency Committee (February and March) and the Learning Environment Committee ( March).  These were all reviewed and accepted.
IV.                 ORDER #FY18 – 1300 –STAFFING ALLOCATIONS  2018-2019 APPROVAL – Council reviewed and agreed by consensus to approve the 2018-2019 staffing allocations.
V.                  ORDER #FY18 – 1301 – 2018-2019 DRAFT BUDGET APPROVAL – Council reviewed and agreed by consensus to approve the 2018-2019 draft budget.
VI.                Council reviewed and accepted  the Family Resource Center report.
VII.              The next regular meeting will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Michelle Masterson  will serve as facilitator, Lori Howlett as resource person and Chris Spears as scribe.

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
FEBRUARY 14, 2018  

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order.  Council members present were Lori Howlett, Michelle Masterson, Kathie Hamilton,  Marlinda Lush and Shelee Clark.
I.                    ORDER #FY18 – 1294 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.
ORDER #FY18 – 1295 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the December 11, 2017 regular meeting.
There are several good news reports.  Lakewood has the highest percentage of Google Certified Educators in Hardin County schools.  Four have recently been added to the number.  Many attended the holiday meal in the cafeteria.  Several Lakewood students attended the Jr. Beta Convention.  Sarah Newton and Amber Jinnett won prizes for participating in Hour of Code.  Lakewood academic team participated in the district Governor’s Cup.  Lakewood is a finalist for the WHAS 11 grant.           
II.                  Winter MAP data was discussed.  Additional data was reviewed and discussed which included the PBIS discipline data and the Brigance Kindergarten Readiness data. 
III.                The December and January budget and accident reports were reviewed and accepted.  Due to the cancellation of the January regular meeting numerous committee reports were available.  These included Curriculum & Instruction (December and January), Efficiency (December), Assessment (December and February) and Learning Environment (January and February).
IV.                Elections will be upcoming for 2018-2019 council parent and teacher representatives.  Program review assurances were discussed by council members.
V.                   ORDER #FY18 – 1296 –PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2018-2019 APPROVAL – Council reviewed and agreed by consensus to approve the 2018-2019 Professional Development Plan.
VI.                The next regular meeting will be Monday, March 12, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room. Kathie Hamilton will serve as facilitator, Marlinda Lush as resource person and Michelle Masterson as scribe.
