LWES SBDM APRIL - 2019

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

APRIL 8, 2019    

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order.  Council members present were Lori Howlett, Michelle Masterson, Curtis Nall, Kathie Hamilton, Chris Spears, and Shelee Clark.

I.                    ORDER #FY19 – 1355 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY19 – 1356 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the March 11, 2019 meeting

Good news included Student Led Conferences, Ag Day, Leader in Me Lighthouse Status, STLP Teams eligible for state competition, Family Breakfast Events, and Abby Shader placed third in state Junior Duckstamp art contest

II.                  The February budget report was reviewed and accepted.  The March accident reports were reviewed and accepted.  Committee report was reviewed for the assessment committee.

III.                ORDER #FY19 – 1357—FIRST READ OF PARENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT POLICY AND SCHOOL-FAMILY COMPACT—Council agreed  by consensus to approve the first read of Parent and Family Engagement Policy and School-Family Compact

IV.                ORDER #FY19—1358—COUNCIL BY-LAWS SECOND READ—Council agreed by consensus to approve the second read of the council by-laws.

V.                  The next regular meeting will be Monday, May 13, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room.  Kathie Hamilton will serve as facilitator, Michelle Masterson as resource person and Lori Howlett as scribe.

LWES SBDM MARCH - 2019

LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

MARCH 11, 2019        

Mrs. Clark called the meeting of the Lakewood School Council to order.  Council members present were Lori Howlett, Michelle Masterson, Kathie Hamilton, Chris Spears, and Shelee Clark.

I.                    ORDER #FY19 – 1348 – APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Council agreed by consensus to approve the agenda.

ORDER #FY19 – 1349 – APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2019 regular meeting.

ORDER #FY19 – 1350 –APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Council agreed by consensus to approve the minutes of the February 11, 2019 meeting

The Read to Achieve Grant was renewed for the 2019-2020 school year.  The Storybook Sockhop was attended by many families.  Lakewood’s academic team competed in District Governor’s Cup competition and placed second in quick recall. Several individual students also earned awards.  The VEX robotics team competed in Louisville for their last competition of the year.  The girls volleyball team participated in a district tournament.  The 4^th grade competitive basketball team had an undefeated season.

II.                  Winter MAP data was reviewed by the committee. The Lighthouse Evidence binder was also shared with the committee and the Lighthouse Review visit was discussed. 

III.                The January budget report was reviewed and accepted.  The January and February accident reports were reviewed and accepted.  Committee reports were reviewed for efficiency, learning environment, assessment and curriculum and instruction committees. 

IV.                ORDER #FY19 - 1351 – STAFFING ALLOCATIONS 2019-2020 APPROVAL—Council reviewed and agreed by consensus to approve the 2019-2020 staffing allocations.

V.                  ORDER #FY19 – 1352 – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2019-2020 APPROVAL – Council reviewed and agreed by consensus to approve the 2019-2020 Professional Development Plan.

VI.                ORDER #FY19—1353—COUNCIL BY-LAWS FIRST READ—Council agreed by consensus to approve the first read of the council by-laws.

VII.              The next regular meeting will be Monday,  April 8, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Lakewood conference room.  Lori Howlett will serve as facilitator, Curtis Nall as resource person and Kathie Hamilton as scribe.
